According to The Hill, the Emerson College Polling survey, conducted on June 24-25, reveals Vance commanding a significant lead with 46% support among Republican primary voters, far outpacing other potential contenders for the GOP nomination.
The poll, released on Friday, surveyed 1,000 registered voters, including 416 Republican primary voters. It shows a remarkable shift in Vance’s standing within the party. His support has grown substantially since an earlier Emerson poll in November.
In the November survey, Vance held a lead with 30% support among Republican voters. At that time, half of the respondents were undecided about their choice. Other candidates, like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, had only 5% support then. In the latest poll, Vance’s backing has jumped to 46%, a clear sign of his growing influence. Among male Republican voters and those over 60, his support climbs even higher to 52%. This demonstrates a strong appeal among key demographic groups within the party.
Trailing far behind, Secretary of State Marco Rubio secured just 12% support in the recent survey. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis followed with 9% of the vote. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent, garnered 5%.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley each received only 2% support. Six other listed candidates polled at 1% or less. Meanwhile, 17% of respondents remain undecided, and 4% prefer someone not on the list.

President Trump has also weighed in on Vance’s potential as a future leader. In a February interview with Fox News, Trump said, “it’s too early” to name Vance as his successor. He added, however, that Vance and others are “very capable” of taking on the role.
Last month, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump offered more direct praise. He described Vance as a “fantastic, brilliant guy.” This endorsement could further boost Vance’s visibility among Republican voters.
Trump also recognized other figures in the party during the same NBC interview. He stated that “Marco is great” when discussing Secretary Rubio. He added that “there’s a lot of them that are great,” signaling a deep bench of talent. Vance’s rise in the polls comes at a time of evolving dynamics within the Republican Party.
