On November 17, in a shocking daylight robbery, a woman was carjacked at gunpoint as she parked her Mercedes G Wagon. The assailants, driving a grey Acura, brazenly demanded her keys and purse, threatening her at gunpoint without any apparent fear of witnesses.
This violent encounter not only left the victim terrified but also resulted in approximately $50,000 in damages to her vehicle when the thieves unsuccessfully attempted to remove its computer dashboard. The car was later recovered in The Bronx, slightly alleviating the owner's loss.
